PFLAG Central Oregon
Welcome all parents, families, and friends of lesbians and gays!
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
Meeting Information
PFLAG Central Oregon meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Where: Nativity Lutheran Church
60850 Brosterhous Rd., Bend
6:30 PM (6:15 for library usage and refreshments)
Nativity Lutheran Church is a GLBT friendly and welcoming church.
Meetings are confidential and include introductions, "PFLAG Moments" where people share if they have had encounters where they were able to support someone, educate someone about gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender issues or advocates on behalf of our GLBT loved ones. We usually have a social event, a speaker or a topic for the evening and occasionally we have break-out support groups depending on the need. We try to make everyone feel welcome whether you are a parent who has just learned their child is gay or you are a glbt person yourself who is struggling with your identity or coming out. Feel free to wear whatever you are comfortable in. We're a relaxed group and accept people as they are! Please join us!
We also have parents who are willing to meet with other parents one on one if that is more to your comfort level. Please call our infoline or e-mail us.

Craft night - We're going to be making crafts to sell at Pride to help earn money for our PFLAG chapter. If you have a craft that is marketable to the LGBTQ community please bring the materials to make it and teach it to us. This is going to be fun and profitable! Those items we don't sell at Pride will be given away in our drawing in July. Bring finger food!
